Vehicles remaining during a snow emergency may be ticketed in accordance with the Borough of Lyons Snow Emergency Ordinance. Please be a good neighbor.

WATER & SEWER BILL SEEM HIGHER?

Have you been taking longer showers? Or not running full loads of laundry or dishes? Another item you can check is leaks in the toilet that you may not even hear or see. To check for leaks:

(1) Remove the tank lid.

(2) Drop a few drops of food coloring into the tank.

(3) Wait approximately 60 minutes.

(4) Check the color of the water in the bowl.

If you have ANY of the colored tank water you made in the bowl, your toilet is leaking water and adding to your water/sewer bill. Repair or replace your toilet as soon as possible.

. . . . FYI:  Did you know that if you flush an old type of toilet as few as 6 times per day, you can recover the cost of a new more efficient 1.6 gallon flushing toilet in water/sewer savings in less than one year.
